The bristles were hard at first, but overtime they softened.

My sister and I did Dr. Alexander Jung's CLEAN program for 21 days and the regimen includes dry-brushing after a workout and before showering. This is the BEST dry brush for the skin. The bristles are perfect and firm. It's long and I can use it to get all over my back. It gets all those dead cells off your skin and even makes an excellent exfoliating wet brush, if you like it in the shower. I even use it on my legs pre-shaving to prevent ingrown hairs. The wood is also well made and the bristles are organic. I highly recommend it! You'll skin will thank you for it!

The bristles are strong and perfect for dry brushing. What the heck was that one reviewer using it in the wet shower for?? This is a dry brush for your skin. Anyway - the picture shows a BEAUTIFUL triple colored wood handle. You don't get that one. You get the balsa wood one LOL - but it will get the job done AND it comes apart from the handle so you can get better leverage for your legs and arms. Use it in good health!

I have pretty tough skin and most brushes I've tried were way too soft. This one is perfect! I got it from Whole Foods on a whim and I love it! The bristles are the just the right firmness. And it's so satisfying to see all that dead skin flaking off and falling to the floor! No other brush has worked this well for me. I even went back to WF and got another one!
The bristle are very, very firm so everyone won't like it but it's just what I've been looking for.
